  • 4 Reasons to Drip: Your Guide to RDA Coil Building

When it comes to vaping, there are many ways to partake in it, and there is no right or wrong way.  You will hear about vapers who are constantly telling you that you need to do it this way or that way, but what you need to be worrying about is the process of going from cigarettes to vaping to no nicotine vaping to eventually quitting

That is what this movement is about.  It is about getting yourself off the addiction.  Now within that path, there are a number of ways that it can be done.  From pen style, box mod and tank, and then there is dripping.

Dripping is literally the act of dripping e liquid onto coils that you wrapped yourself.  It is not as scary as many people would have you believe, but there are certain things that you will need to be mindful of, i.e. your batteries, the ohms that you are building to.

But, if you believe that this hands on path is the way you want to go (I’m looking at you guys who are hand rolling your cigarettes especially), then let’s try to give you a bit of understanding.  (If you want to see how it’s done, skip to #4.)

    1. Dripping is for the hands on person.

Do you enjoy using your hands to create? Well this is the portion of vaping that you will really enjoy.  Not only do you get to make something new, you can do it anyway you want to (within reason of course, damn math).

It’s also great for those who are looking to start vaping and roll their own cigarettes.  It’s a way to be able to customize your vaping experience just like you were when you were smoking.  You get to make your coil and wick exactly how you like it, which is hugely important for some of you.

Also, once you understand how to do it and to make it well, almost all possibilities in the realm of imaginable can be done.  I’ve seen some pretty crazy builds come through the shop.

    1. Coil Building causes you to know your device.

That is not to say that you can just do it willy-nilly.  You really need to pay attention to what you are doing, but just by knowing that you are ahead of the game for many people.  You will know what your device is capable of, what your battery can do (understand your batteries people), and will know the ins and outs of wrapping in no time.

    First Coil Attempt

Actual first attempt for a coil, so you can do it as well.

You will know what ohm you are at, what amps your battery is pushing, what your vg/pg split is on your e liquid.  It really is for the person who likes the all-encompassing factor of hobbies.  You purists will find yourself among these.

    1. Customized Vapor and Flavor Production

Because you can build to any way you like, you can choose what you want.  Do you want better flavor? You can build it. How about huge clouds?  You can do that as well.  It is literally anyway you want it.

Have you seen these huge cloud competitions on the internet yet? Well they are not doing that without building their own coils.  They know what they want, and they build to it.  That’s what you get to do when you wrap your own coils.  Maybe your perfect vape is at .27 ohms instead of the standard sets of .5 or .2.  You can learn to do that.  It is all a matter of how seriously you want to take it.

If you are more like me, you prefer the flavor portion of it more than the vapor production (I can hear the snickering from the back).  It is amazing how different some of the flavors that you have been vaping on forever will taste on an RDA.  You will taste some of the subtle hints that you wouldn’t normally get to in the prebuilt coils. It really can be a fantastic way to find a new flavor.

    1. You can start today if you really want to.

Think it will take some time to get started on this whole idea? Well if you go into the shop, you can get you a RDA and you can get to wrapping.  We will watch over your first wrap with you or you can take it home and read this section to find out how to do it.

    Things you will need:

    • RDA (Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer)
    • Kanthal A1 Wire: Usually comes in 22, 24, 26, 28, and 30 gauge. Most people will wrap with the 24 or 26 gauge wire, so it’s not a bad starting point.
    • Organic Cotton: something like KangerTech’s Japanese Organic or Cotton Bacon.
    • Clippers
    • Screwdriver (will be used to wrap coils and also to install on RDA, 3 millimeter in diameter would be preferred)
    • Ohm Reader: Essential, so don’t leave the shop without it.
    • Tweezer, preferably ceramic tipped as these can be used while firing your coil and won’t short out your build.
    • Needle nose pliers for pulling the wire tight.

Now for a safety note: you need to check your coil builds on the Ohm reader before you start vaping.  It is important as you don’t want to be too low for you device.  You should also plan in a +/- 0.2 ohm variance.  It helps to keep you safe.

This next portion may get a little long, but stick with it.  It is definitely worth it!

Wrapping your first coil is going to be a bit intimidating, but just remember that you have no need to be perfect on your first wrap.  Just expect it not to be up to par so that when you decide to scrap it, you won’t be too upset.

So for this first one, I’m going to give an example of what your coil should. It is a quick easy build that will get you to 0.5 ohms in resistance.

You are going to take your screw driver and for your first one about 8-9 inches of 26 gauge Kanthal A1 wire.  As you get a bit more experienced in it, you will actually be able to cut this down, but it is easier to have a little more to work at the start.

Take the screw driver and wire and with one hand you will hold and use the other to wrap.  Whichever way you decide to wrap, when the tail ends of the coil are facing in the same direction, count it as one wrap, and for this first coil we are going to want to end up with 7 wraps.  This is because we are using a 3 mm screwdriver and 26 gauge wire.  Each coil itself should end up as 1.0 ohms and when you put them together you will have yourself a 0.5 ohms coil build.

To finish off each of these wraps you will want to make sure that each leg of the wire is facing the same direction and then snip off the wire.  Be sure to leave yourself a lead for attaching it to the RDA.

    Attaching it to the RDA

It is a little tricky because you want to make sure that it will not touch the posts in the center, but also you do not want it to touch the outside of the RDA, as both of these could make it short out.  Now, the RDA has anywhere from 2 – 4 posts on it, where the outside posts are going to ground the wire (negative) and the inside posts are going to be your positive posts.  You have to attach the wire to both of them. (Look at the picture above; there are three with the outside ones negative and the inside post positive)

For our build both of our wraps will attach to the center post and an outside one.  This is why we left the lead on the coil wraps as it will help us to position the wire in the RDA.  When you get it to where you want it, screw down the posts to hold it in place.  What you don’t want to do is screw it down so hard that it will cut the wire.  You want it to be tight and where the wire will not move.

Once the wire is attached, you want to put it on your ohms reader and make sure that it reads want we set out to build.  If it is too low you will want to start again, but it should be fairly accurate. You definitely don't want to be building to low for your battery, so check out this site real quick to learn a little more about that.

The next step is to work to get the hot spots out of your wires.  It is important as you want your coils to heat the same rate and cool down at the same rate from the center to the outside of the coil. Initially, you want to pulse your coil to see where it is heating up from.  And as this is your first coil, you will most likely have to put a little work into these ones to get them how you need them.

That is where the ceramic tweezers come in.  You are going to notice that there is space in between your coil so they aren’t heating up evenly.  What you want to do is to pulse your box while squeezing the coils together, until they heat up from the center out.  It definitely is easier with practice to make a more perfect coil. After you get it heating up perfectly, you want to strum your screwdriver over the coil to give it a perfectly even spacing.

I promise you are almost done!

The next step is to wick your coils.  The organic cotton that you have put aside is now to be used.  You will want to cut a strip of cotton for your wick.  You won’t need a huge amount for each side, and as you get a little more experienced you will be able to judge how much cotton you will need.  It is a little bit of trial and error for most people.

You will want to take your cotton strip and roll both ends into a point, and then cut it down the middle.  Take the rolled ends and thread it through your coils and once they are in, even them out and cut them even.

Take your tweezers and roll the cotton under into the juice well, being sure to leave some space under the coil for air flow.  After that, you will take your e liquid and paint your coils and cotton with it.  It will take a little more liquid then you think to get the cotton soaked, but don’t worry it really is just a learning experience.

Do you want to see a video of someone doing it, then check out this post!

Well there you have it. You built your first coil! Be proud of yourself!

  • Battery Safety: Because It Is Actually Important

In this post we are going to be going over why you need to put a small amount of thought into your battery choice when buying your mod.  If you don’t choose the right battery for your box it can lead to an unpleasant experience or something much worse.  And that is what we are here to stop, so follow along, and let’s learn about this important part of the vaping process.

There are a few parts to understanding a battery.  They are: how to read the name, what is mAh, knowing how to choose between capacity versus amps, and best practices for batteries.  Doesn’t it just sound exhilarating? Well let’s get started then!

    LG 18650 Battery

    How to Read the Name:

See this picture? It’s just confusing isn’t it? Well we have a few resources that will help you to know what you are actually looking at.

You are looking at an LG HG2 18650 3000 mAh.  The 18 is the diameter in millimeters, and 650 is the height in millimeters. Other designations you will see on batteries can be seen here, and if you click on the battery above you will have another resource for yourself. They explain it better than we could so feel free to check them out.

    What is a mAh anyway?

A mAh is short for milliampere-hour, and it is a measurement of how much of an electrical charge a particular battery will hold.  The higher the mAh is, the longer operating time for a device that is using constant power.  There are certainly things that will affect this rating, but on as a general rule the higher this number is, the better battery life there is.

    Capacity v. Amps: Who wins?

By and large, most people who are vaping will want capacity as this is what allows them to get through a day without worrying about charging their batteries and not having their vape available, especially if they are quitting smoking.

There are some who will need higher amps.  These are people who are called builders.  They are building their coils and going low sub ohm (which will be explained at a later date).  Choosing between the two of them can be tough call because there is a tradeoff.  Batteries can do a little of both or much more of one or the other, and this is why it can be confusing.  Most people will find they don’t need the high amps and will prefer having the longer battery life.

    Common Best Practices:

    1. Do not overcharge your batteries. Also, you should not pull them off the charger and put them directly to use in your mod.  They need time to cool. One of the most important things is to make not charge past 4.25 volts and to never make it to 4.5 volts as this can make your battery explode. If your voltage gets below 3.6 volts, you should recharge as soon as possible.
    2. Handle your mod and batteries with care; these are electrical devices that can malfunction if not treated properly. Do not leave your tank attached to your mod overnight especially when you have a non-removable internal battery. Store your batteries in a case, and especially do not leave them in your pocket loose.  There is that possibly that your keys could complete a circuit on the battery and cause it to fire.  Do not let that be you.
    3. Temperature is important when you decide on your battery. The continuous current rate of your battery will determine how hot your battery runs.  This rating is usually capped at 167° Fahrenheit. If it reaches this temperature, your battery will start to age quickly or become damaged. It will then decrease not only the lifespan of the batteries but also the capacity and internal resistance of the battery.  The resistance being damage will in turn increase the temp of the battery, causing more damage to the battery.
    4. Make sure you are buying authentic batteries. Many companies on the market today are taking batteries from the Big 4 suppliers of LG, Samsung, Sony, and Panasonic and rewrapping them and then bumping up their ratings.  This is dangerous because of it does matter what the amps are.  You cannot exceed this with your coil without you taking on undue risk.

As you can see this is a most basic guide to vaping batteries.  It is something to get you started on your understanding.  There will be further guides to come, but as we are currently in our series for beginning vapers, we wanted to keep it fairly simple.  If you would like to check out more in this series, I would start with Vaping vs Smoking and What is Vaping.

  • Vaping vs Smoking: 10 Reasons Why Vaping Is Better Than Smoking

When you are looking to make the switch into vaping, there are going to be countless things that you hear from everyone.  Whether good or bad, you are bound to have some preconceived ideas about vaping.  What we do not want to see is someone who disregards vaping because of the wrong reasons.

That is why we have been working on this series of blog posts to get you the truth about vaping.  We hear it every day.  People come into the shop and are confused because they are hearing so many negative things from the media. We find it strange that it is the same people in the media who have been saying for decades that we all need to quit smoking, but now that people are trying to quit, they are fighting one of the best tools that we have to help us quit.

This is why we have this fantastic list of ten reasons why vaping is better than smoking.

    1. Smell is a fantastic thing to have.

Smelling great is something that we all try to achieve every day.  We hope in the shower and use fancy soaps that smell good.  Get out put a little perfume on and some deodorant, just to keep that scent all day long.  Yet, then we go and light a cigarette and it destroys everything we just did.

For many people, when they are around people who don’t smoke, they worried that they stank of cigarettes.  Going to give your boyfriend a hug, and worried what he was thinking? Or maybe it was every time you hugged your parents.  It definitely was a huge burden of anxiety for many people.

Not only that, but smoking can destroy your sense of smell, as research way back in 1990 showed.  They showed that it can take as many years as you smoke to fully regain it, but when you quit, you can definitely start to see all that there is a huge difference between what you can smell now and what you couldn’t then.

    2. You get to taste things as they were meant to be tasted.

Once you make the shift to vaping, within less than a week, you start to get your taste back.  It is an amazing thing to have happen to you.  You love coffee when you smoked? Well you haven’t tasted anything until after you quit.  It becomes even more amazing! Everything you put into your mouth begins to take on new flavors.

Every time you light up, your taste buds are getting weaker.  Your ability to perceive bitter is getting beat up.  It’s not that you are killing all your taste buds, just that they are not doing their job to the best of their ability.  Don’t hate on your taste buds.

    3. In the long run, it’s cheaper.

When you first start vaping, you may see the price of some of the mods as ridiculous.  What you don’t understand yet, is that those devices will help you destroy your addiction.  It is what is going to keep you from being a slave to the cigarettes for the rest of your life.  As you take on the addiction, you slowly step your nicotine levels down until you are at zero and that is when you lay the vape down.  You have your life back and that is the whole point of this thing.

Not only are you not paying out every single day for a pack of smokes, but your long term health is helped.  You don’t have to worry about the long term health effects of being a smoker, because you will be a non-smoker.  Your health insurance will go down in a year after you quit because you are less of a risk as well.

    4. Heart disease? High Blood Pressure? Maybe not.

One of those great benefits of quitting smoking is you that all these things start to happen as soon as you point down that cigarette.

    Quitting Smoking Benefits

    5. You get to choose what flavor you vape on.

What flavors do you get with cigarettes? Menthol or non-Menthol.  They all will pretty much taste close to the same.  What is amazing about vape is if you dream it up, it can usually be made.  Want key lime cheesecake? Well you can get that.  You got a hankering for candy canes? You might just like some Just Claus.

It really is that awesome.  You can vape on pretty close to anything that you want and get the nicotine that you need to help you continue on your path of quitting.

    6. Vape disappears, smoke lingers.

Worries about second hand smoke are real and have been shown by science to be a danger to all those around them. But that is another difference between vaping and smoking.  Second hand smoke has been shown to linger in the air for about 20 minutes before dissipating completely.  Initial studies have shown that it can take as little as 11 seconds before vapor dissipates.

Now that is an initial study and more research needs to be done, but as you can see from this study, any trace amounts of chemicals in exhaled vapor is negligible compared to second hand smoke.  It is very telling that the difference is so stark.

    7. Tired of being shunned? Try Vaping

The vaping community is one of the most inclusive groups to come around.  They have a great desire to help each other quit smoking and to fight for their right to vape.  Heck there is even a political party of vapers in England trying to get elected to help fight to keep vaping alive in the marketplace.

Vapers will are very accommodating to new vapers.  If you have questions, you never have to hesitate to ask because they are more than willing to share the knowledge that they have accumulated.  It is very important to them that you understand what you are getting into.  Many people do not know what the right terms, or what they are looking at.  Any shop that is worth your time will spend the time for you to understand things like this.  They will teach you what you need to know to be a successful vaper.

If you have any questions, you can always contact us through our website or you can come into the shop to talk to us.

    8. Breathing is really amazing.

When you quit smoking an amazing thing starts to happen; you start to the process of clearing your lungs out.  No longer are you putting tar into your body. Your body will start to heal itself and you will notice that you may have to expel quite a bit of it.  This is normal and in no way should discourage you from vaping.  You are beginning to heal and this is a necessary function to get past cigarettes.

What you will notice with time is that you will begin to be able to do your day to day activities with more energy.  You will not be out of breath trying to do things like walk up a short flight of steps.  If you are an active person, everything becomes easier when you can actually breathe.  It makes you want to go do things.  Life becomes a much healthier place when you are not actively destroying yourself on an hourly basis.

    9. Trying to quit nicotine altogether? Vaping is the way to do it.

Vaping was created to quit cigarettes.  It is the whole point of what we are doing.  Helping people get their freedom back is very important to us.  That is why if you want to get nicotine out of your life, we have a plan to do that.

When you start vaping, you will usually have a higher content of nicotine in your juice than you want.  That is to help control the urges that you will experience when you switch.  You are quitting thousands of chemicals at the same time, but the most important one that you have to control is the nicotine.  It can make or break your attempt to quit.

This is the number one reason why vaping is the ultimate tool in achieving the quit.  It allows you to quit all of the chemicals in cigarettes except nicotine, and then you follow a step by step plan of lowering your nicotine content until you no longer need to vape.  It is set up for you to achieve greatness.

    10. Vaping has only 4 ingredients as opposed to 4,000 chemicals.

Nicotine, vegetable glycerin, propylene glycol, and flavoring (aka e liquid, vape juice, e juice); it is that simple.  Those ingredients are all you need to beat the cigarette out of your life.  Your smokes have not only been giving you the nicotine you are craving but they also have additives that are only there to help you stay addicted to them.

Three of e liquids are found in many of the foods that you eat on a daily basis, and it is being found that nicotine may not be as harmful as once thought, but only if given in a form that is not bad for you.

    Vaping vs Smoking: Who Wins?

While we believe that vaping wins, you have to make up your own mind.  There are many benefits to vaping as we have laid it out in this article, and previous ones (you can check those out here).

As always, we want to hear what you have to say, which you can definitely do in the comment section below.  If you have questions you can email info@modernsmokingsolutions.com, or lay out your questions below and we will answer.

  • FDA Regulations Are Coming: Vapers Should Have A Voice

    The Confusion Over the FDA

The FDA is leaving many questions hanging over the vaping industry. On the one hand, I do not think they don’t wish to stifle a budding industry that is creating economic activity for thousands upon thousands of people. On the other hand, they wish to create standards that they believe will help the industry thrive without creating undue harm.

The problems come in when the FDA decides that they know what they do not actually know. They have decided that this industry is the same as the tobacco industry. It is unequivocally not the same. We have wholly different products. The only thing that is the same is that you can get nicotine from both products.

So to go through these regulations we find that there are a number of problems with them that needs to be address so that we can continue to help people save and extend their lives by switching to vaping.

The FDA believes that we are increasing consumption with children.

This is fundamentally wrong. There is not a vape shop that I know of who will sell to people under 18. I can tell you in our shop we card those who look under 25. We will not sell our products to those under 18.

The belief that vaping is increasing consumption of nicotine has also been proven wrong. Research has shown in England, that the rate of increase in consumption of nicotine has continued to decrease even as more and more people switch to vaping. There is nothing that has shown an increase in this area.

If you are actually looking at the studies, it shows that even though use of vaping is increasing among youth who already smoke, it is because they have already started to smoke. It is likely they do not care about that, just the raw numbers.

FDA believes that they need standards in the making of e liquid.

Many people may disagree with this, but it is actually something that makes sense. While being able to adjust and make to order juices is great, people do not understand that there are drawbacks to this as well. While most places try very hard to be as accurate as possible, it will never be one hundred percent on the money.

There is also the fact it is being made in air that is not pure. This will inevitably lead to foreign particles being inside the juice that you are going to be vaping on. This is why we have taken the steps to ensure that where we make our premium line is the highest quality that we could get, a Class 5 ISO clean room, and we have also brought in people who are trained to the highest standard to make our premium e liquid.

Also, if you look throughout the vape industry, you will find that there are no longer things like dicetyl, which is the main component in popcorn lung.  It is being shunned by companies and consumers alike, and for probably upwards of 95% of the industry no longer uses this products.  Yet, in cigarettes there is 750 times the amount of dicetyl in them, and there is no huge uproar over the sale of something that is known to kill people.

The FDA does not know the long-term effects of vaping.

I feel like I shouldn’t even have to discuss this, as there is scientific study after scientific study that shows that the effects are better than combustible tobacco. As long as they continue to ignore science, we cannot make headway in this area.

Then we have all the anecdotal evidence in our day to day lives. People come in, quit smoking, say they can actually breath again. They don’t wake up with tar in their mouth, coughing up a storm. Their skin looks healthier; their taste buds come back, their able to walk without getting winded. We have reports also about people having precancerous spots on their lungs and they made the switch. Two months later, their lungs are clear.

The government is willfully ignoring the known effects of vaping.  When a government such as England puts out studies, it would behoove our government to pay attention to things like that.  I mean that whole common sense thing and all.

The FDA believes that anything that was made after 2007 should be taxed retroactively.

The FDA does not even realize that the entire industry has changed since 3 years ago, let alone almost a decade ago. February 15th 2007, is the date that the FDA believes we should go back to and force every product that has come on to the market since then to pay for the privilege of the FDA’s approval.

It is utter nonsense, and we are hoping for the Office of Management and Budget to strike this down, otherwise it will have to be an issue that is brought to the courts. If the FDA doesn’t recognize that they don’t know anything about the vape industry, it will be a battle worth having.

To do the Premarket Tobacco Application on every line of juice that a vape shop carries could potentially lead to costs totaling in the millions just for one vape shop.  When you figure in that there are tens of thousands of shops and e liquid companies in the country, then the costs reaches billions upon billions of dollars in taxes that otherwise would not have been paid, and who does that tax money go to? We are not really sure.

If their purpose is to bankrupt vape companies and put people out of work, then job well done FDA.

The FDA does not really understand the vape industry, but wants to regulate it anyway.

The vape industry prides itself on being open and honest. We are trying to give people their freedom back. With that, we recognize that we can do things better, and every year we are learning and developing better processes. People wouldn’t be coming back time and time again unless it was helping them.

They have also claimed they want child resistant locks and warnings on bottles that contain liquid nicotine. Well every bottle of e liquid that I have received in the past has always had child resistant caps on them. It just makes you want to scream at them to do their homework. If they are not capable of seeing that the vape industry sets a pretty high standard for itself, then they are not really capable of making the rules to govern it.

Setting The Standard Is Being Better Then The FDA

And that is how we operate here at MSS. We are already going above and beyond what the FDA wants us to. Where our juices are made, who they are made by, the way that they are made, the quality of products that they are made with. We can show and attest to the fact that everything we do here is to set a standard so high that the government will not be able to touch us on these products.

It is very important, though, that the vape industry stands as one to make sure that we do not allow the government to quell an industry that is actually helping people. We cannot allow the big tobacco companies to win out because they have more money and have friends in higher places. The whole point is to take their customers and turn them into non-customers, i.e. save lives.

  • Tips To Help You Get Started Vaping

Don't forget to check out our posts, The Truth About Vaping and Vaping Into The Quit, for further information.

Trying to quit smoking is one of the most difficult endeavors you will ever go through. Believe it or not, nicotine is not the culprit. It’s the Monoamine oxidase inhibitors or MAOI’s. They are found naturally in tobacco and reduce the levels of dopamine that nicotine release. The other 3999 chemicals don’t help either. Don’t worry though, I’m here to help (Insert super hero theme song of your choice here).

Unlike cigarettes, the juice, or e-liquid, used in vaping only has two chemicals. Vegetable glycerin, or VG, is a clear, odorless liquid produced from plant oils, typically palm oil, soy, or coconut oil. Propylene glycol, or PG is used as a preservative in food products. Propylene glycol is also used in various edible items such as coffee-based drinks, liquid sweeteners, ice cream, whipped dairy products and soda. The nicotine and flavoring are either VG or PG based. There are different blends that you can get your juice in from a 50/50 blend to 80/20 (which is what our premium line is.)  There are also some juices that are 100% VG.

Now that we have that out of the way, let’s get to it, shall we.

1 – Throw away your cigarettes immediately.

You don’t need that kind of negativity in your life. All it will do is to remind you that you have not finished smoking, so it is better to get them out of your life as quick as possible.  Change small things about your smoking habit.  If you used to open your driver side window to smoke, open your passenger side.  You spent your mornings out front of your house, head out back and see what that is like.  By changing small things you will have less of the triggers that compel you to smoke.

2 – Choose the right device for you.

With so many options for devices, tanks, coils, batteries, etc., it can seem a bit overwhelming at first, but stay calm. Come see us (or head to your local vape shop), tell them you want to start vaping and ask questions. The vaping community is very friendly and most shops have a knowledgeable staff. Be patient and don’t jump on the first thing you see.

Many of the people that hang out at the vape shops will be using some advanced mods and tanks or rda’s, that most beginners will not really want to touch, so don’t worry about them.  You will want to choose something that fits you and that will help you achieve what you are trying to do.

    3 – Have a secondary device.

The worst thing that could happen is the batteries dying or the coil burns out in your device half way through the day. That may just make you go buy a pack of cigarettes, so make sure you always have at least one extra battery and a backup coil.

Take it from experience: If you are trying to fight the battle of quitting, there is one thing you don’t want to do is run out of juice or be down a coil.  It will lead to temptation to buy a pack of cigarettes.  When I ran out, all I could do is get to the shop as quickly as possible, so make sure that you plan ahead.  If you are going out of town, bring a couple spares along with, just in case.  Murphy’s Law and all that.

4 – Find the right nicotine level for you.

The nicotine in vape juice is absorbed differently then it is from a cigarette. It takes a little bit longer with vape juice. Again, rely on your vape shop staff for helping you decide the level that is right for. If you start vaping and think you need more or less nicotine, just let the staff know and they can adjust the nicotine level.

Nicotine is a very important part of the process of quitting smoking.  You are going to need it to get through the initial cravings and you will need to slowly ween yourself off of it.  You need to have a plan in place to lower your nicotine.  Many of our people will lower their nicotine levels when they come in to get new juice.  We have found that it is a good way to start lowering, but some of you will be a bit slower in the lowering process and that is okay as well.

5 – Find the flavor that is right for you.

It is very important to find what flavors you need to help you in the transition. For some, vaping tobacco flavored juice is like drinking non alcoholic beer. It makes you want the real thing. Almost all vape shops have tester bars that allow you to try the flavors of juices they offer. Everybody has a different palette so take your time and taste as many as you can. Just know, that it doesn’t matter how fruity your juice is, what matters is the fact that you are going to use it to quit!

6 – Vape through the cravings.

For the first couple of weeks the cravings will still be there and they will be fierce, stay strong and vape through them. If you go through a 15ml of juice in six minutes to get past a craving, it will be totally worth it. After about two weeks with zero cigarettes, you will have forgotten all about them.

    7 – Don’t listen to the haters.

There are people in the world that would let you believe that vaping is just as bad for you as smoking. Those people either make money off of big tobacco or are too lazy to do the research themselves. Don’t take my word for it, do the research, check facts. It’s all there on the internet.
